A women’s sports bar is a bar aimed at women often showing woman’s sporting events.
Market Need
In recent years a mockery has been made of the term “safe space” which is defined as places “intended to be free of bias, conflict, criticism, or potentially threatening actions, ideas, or conversations”. It is seen as a woke concept for snowflakes (a very sensitive person, someone who is easily hurt or offended by the statements or actions of others). Often the LGBTQ community will call a gay club a “safe space”. But to use their logic South Africa is a far more dangerous place to be a woman than to be gay. Our world record crimes against women tells you the chances of being attacked because you are a woman is greater than if you were gay. Sure gay people are a minority but we are talking about a generally and not just on average.
Do women want a women sports bar?
I guess this would be the question. If I were a women a men’s bar would be an intimidating space with men leering at me. But most women go to bars with their (male) partners. Yes, there are some that go on “girls nights out”. The other question to ask is do women watch women sports? Do they want to watch women sports in bars? Who knows?
In the US we have seen places like “Sports Bra” apparently the line is out the door.
The elephant in the room
There are two questions that needs to be answered: 1. are men allowed. 2 what about lesbians?
1. Sports Bra allows men as touts itself as an inclusive environment. But many women want to get away from men.
2. How will lesbians be treated in this situation. Lesbians can be as aggressive as men in pursuing women, they could see it as a place to meet girls. But the women are going there maybe not for that purpose. Kicking a lesbian out might get you cancelled. I don’t know it’s a strange situation. What do you think?
