Plasti Dip is a rubber coating that is used to change the colour of cars and rims. It is much cheaper than a spray job and can be easily removed if the owner wants to revert back to the cars original colour.
What is Plasti Dip
Plasti Dip is a protective rubber coating that was originally designed to provide a better grip on tool handles, if you’ve ever used a pliers with a rubber handle that feels like it can be peeled off, that is Plasti Dip.
While some tools sold with Plasti Dip handles it was also sold in a can in which you could dip the handles of your tools into. People then started to add thinners and started spraying it to cover larger areas, and that use spread to cars, which has seen an explosion in popularity in recent years.
Plasti Dip can change the colour or cars and wheels and when the owner is tired of the new colour they can simply peel it off.
How is Plasti Dip applied to the car
Plastic Dip can be applied using a spray can (like the ones spray paint comes in), spray gun or paint sprayer, handheld sprayer or even a airbrush if its thinned down enough. If you doing this commercially you not going to use cans as you will need a lot of cans to get the job done. You will invest in a spray gun and buy the coating by the liter, if you coating smaller items it can be dipped into the liquid or brushed on.

How to start this business
Once you have gotten a spray gun, you need to get a workspace, you can do it from your garage, but its best to partner with someone who has a complimentary business, maybe like a car wash, and you can either sublet or pay the owner a fee for every car that you do. Once you have gotten a space, take sample pics of cars you have done or take from the internet (I assume you have learnt the craft by now). Make sure you mention that it is not permanent and it also protects the underlying paint in your marketing materials.
